The idea of using mobile devices to assist learning was formally conceptualised a surprisingly long time ago. Alan Kay’s Dynabook, in the early 1970s, first attempted to design a computer-mediated mobile learning platform. Although the Dynabook was a concept, the ripples of the project lead to Kay’s work at Xerox Paolo-Alto Research Labs.
